Grammar Notes:
Let's jump right in to the grammar by showing an example:Remember how modifiers go after nouns in the Thai language? Well, that is what is happening in this phrase as well. In this case, the Thai word for glass gâa.ou is called a classifier.

MThis lesson has several classifiers:
tôo.ay : "cup"Since we don't always use classifiers in English, they sometimes sound a little bit strange when you are translating from Thai. For example in Thai, to say "five friends" you say "friends five people". Three dogs would be "dogs three bodies". But don't worry about that for now. The classifiers in this lesson sound good in English as well. Just sit back and enjoy your "beer two glass" or your "tea one cup" if you'd prefer.
